Starting with 2D AutoCAD drawings from the set designers, a three-dimensional virtual world was created and imported into d3.

Because of the highly complex three-dimensional nature of the set, d3 was used to pre-visualize the content in perfect sync to the beat of the music whilst output feeds were setup according to an established output template. These feeds were then rendered out and converted into MPEG2 before being loaded into a conventional mediaserver system. As always, d3's virtual world perfectly matched the actual reality.

With d3's unique projection techniques, content was applied to the screens without need for a content template. The animator simply showed up with their movies and the d3 operator was able to virtually project the content onto the scene and apply areas from within movie feeds to any area of the screens. All this was done in realtime at 60 fps.

This project is another example how d3's dynamic nature makes it very easy to make quick changes even on the most complex of stage sets, and integrate in to more established media playback configurations.
