Darmah reveal World Cup TV set16th June 2010
Darmah's fleet of d3 rackmounts were put to the test in a seriously creative three-dimensional stage set, designed and conceived by the team themselves.
All preparation was done in their new d3 visualisation studios in Mexico City in advance of the team moving on-site. Stage design was fine tunes, and technology tested and configured before the prebuild in their warehouse. This ensured a first time right policy which helped them through out the whole show.
TV Azteca is one of Mexico's biggest broadcasters and no-one doubts the fanaticism of the Mexicans when it comes to football. For this reason, Darmah integrated 2 d3 rack systems with live HD cameras, seamless switchers, and some other neat tricks to make the stage come alive during the broadcasts, whilst seamlessly integrating lighting, screens, cameras with the amazing LED set.
Tiga tours with d328th May 2010
From its humble beginnings as a hip supermarket chain, Turbo Recordings has grown into a Downtown Canada fixture, a haven for WorlDJs and dancers alike. Founded by well-liked Groove-Shaman Tiga, the independent label has emerged at the forefront of the contemporary Bravewave scene with a roster including such luminaries as Jesper Dahlback, D.I.M., Proxy, Jori Hulkkonen, Zdar, Martini Bros, Stu Thousand VI, and Tiga himself, Tiga.
d3's quadhead machine was used to pre-simulate and output renowned visual artist Andreas Nilsson's content onto three separate projection screens, and then to play out live at the gigs.
The d3 rackmount Slave is set back stage and connected to the projectors, and a single master d3 laptop at is set at the FOH position. Conencting the two is a CAT6e network cable. With he addition of a couple of Behringer MIDI control surfaces, realtime midi control passes from the Master to the Slave, giving full remote control of the timeline plus a realtime previs of the action.
As d3 operator and system designer, Richard Shipman listens to what the dj's are playing, and easily jumps from one que to another in d3. By quantizing the video clips and bringing audio tracks from the set into d3 he could also sync the clips to the beat of the music.
